  • Volunteer Workday at Buffalo Bayou Park | FREE – Volunteer your time to help Buffalo Bayou Conservancy clean up the park. Bring gloves. 8:30am to 11:30am.
  • Asian Heritage Cultural Discovery Workshop at Chinese Community Center – Learn the art of Chinese calligraphy, paper cutting, origami and tai-chi, and observe a tea ceremony demonstration at this four-hour workshop at Chinese Community Center. $25. 10am to 2pm.
  • Houstonia’s Summer Pop Up Shop at Silver Street | FREE with RSVP –Shop from a curated collection of boutiques and local vendors with music in the background at Silver Street Studios. 10am to 4pm.
  • Tacos & Doggos Adoption Event at Tacos A Go Go – Visit Tacos A Go Go in Garden Oaks to play with and maybe even rescue puppies from the Animal Justice League. 11am to 2pm.
  • Hot Dogs & Beer with Eureka Heights Brewing at Good Dog Montrose – It’s National Hot Dog Month and to celebrate, Eureka Heights is taking over four taps at Good Dog Montrose and has collaborated with the restaurant on a Texas bratwurst. 2pm to 8pm.
  • Opening Reception for Changing Perspectives and Collective Pulse at Galveston Arts Center – Get a peek of artist Abhidnya Ghuge’s exhibition Changing Perspectives and Burning Bones Press’ exhibition Collective Pulse on view at the Galveston Arts Center at this opening reception. 6pm to 9pm.
  • Flea by Night at Discovery Green– Shop for everything from art to furniture and collectibles from a variety of vendors while enjoying live music and food trucks during Discovery Green’s Flea by Night. 6pm to 10pm.
  • Houston Roller Derby Doubleheader at Revention Music Center –This roller derby doubleheader will feature a game between The Bayou City Bosses and The Brawlers and a match-up of The Valkyries vs. The Psych Ward Sirens. Tickets start $15. 7pm.
  • Houston Dash vs. Washington Spirit at BBVA Compass Stadium –Cheer on the Dash as they play Washington in a home game at BBVA Compass Stadium. Tickets start at $15. 7:30pm.
  • Houston Symphony: The Music of Prince at Jones Hall Reflect on the life of Prince as the Houston Symphony performs iconic songs like “Kiss” and “Purple Rain”, led by conductor Brent Havens at Jones Hall. Tickets start at $29. 7:30pm.
  • Sugar Land Superstar Round 2 at Town Square | FREE – Catch the second round of Sugar Land’s American Idol-like singing competition Sugar Land Superstar at Town Square. The finalists will compete for the title in August. 7:30pm.
  • Kendrick Lamar in Concert at Toyota Center Grammy Award-winning rapper Kendrick Lamar is coming to Houston to perform hits from his latest album “Damn” at Toyota Center. Tickets start at $49.50. 7:30pm.
  • International Saturdays at Belvedere Lounge in Uptown– Dress up to mix and mingle in the lounge, patio, and on the dance floor to tunes by DJ ND.  9pm to 2am.

  • A Walk in the Woods with BCO at Memorial Park | FREE – Join Bayou City Outdoors for an hour and a half hike through the lesser-known trails of Memorial Park to kick off your Sunday. 8:15am to 10am.
  • 4 Year Anniversary Celebration at Pistolero’s– The tequila bar in Montrose is celebrating four years in business with a party featuring drink specials and beats by DJ Josh Dupont. Noon to 8pm.
  • Sunday Family Zone at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston– Bring the whole family to MFAH for an afternoon of games, activities, storybook readings, mini tours of the galleries and more. Included with admission. 1pm to 4pm.
  • Free Vanilla Cones at Houston McDonald’s for National Ice Cream Day | FREE – Download the McDonald’s appto redeem the Free Vanilla Cone offer on National Ice Cream Day, Sunday, June 16, 2017, and you could also win free soft serve for life.
