What Limits Someone Is…

Prior to the accident, I was a risk taker of sorts. I enjoyed high speeds, jumping from planes and loved heights. I didn’t fear the consequences of falling because, hey what’s the worst that could happen? A bad enough fall for me now could land me in the hospital or worse, back in a wheelchair or paralyzed, so I made the choice not to take those risks anymore. The thing is, that altered many things about the person I was and became. No longer would I even go up a ladder in fear that if I fell, the consequences would be dire. That big “if” is what I placed in front of me to limit what I could, would and should do. I know you must think this is funny, but they were small things that I could control. Heck, it took me nearly a year and a half before I drove again after the wreck.
